A Smattering of Photographs from Washington DC
My recent trip to the States took me from New York City to Washington DC. DC is a great city for photographic opportunities, especially if you like architecture and monuments. Well, ok, probably only if you like architecture and monuments. Still, I had a nice time and got some good shots. Here's a random selection from the US Capital (not to be confused with the Capitol, of which I have many too!)
Obligatory Whitehouse Shot!
Taken from the World War Two Memorial looking back towards the Washington Monument
Some more shots of the WWII Memorial
Pennsylvania Avenue looking towards the Capitol. As I was crossing the road I realised this was a shot I've seen many many times in movies. This is obviously the preferred angle!
The sun tipping the Washington Monument. I swear the flare was not added in post. My dirty polarising filter made it streak like that!
Another shot of the capitol! Taken with my new Nikon 28-300 lens.
A security guard looking incredibly bored outside one of the museums
A Seagull stands guard by the reflecting pool outside the US Capitol Building, Washington DC
I have a couple of more shots, including one that I'm really proud of, but I need to finishing processing them, so I'll post the rest tomorrow!
